The Landon Nature Trail is being developed onnearly 40 miles of the formerMissouri-Pacific Railroad linking Topeka’s Shunga Landon Nature TrailTrail, southward to theFlint Hills Nature Trail, just east of Pomona Lake in Osage County. This historic rail corridor is now being developed as a trail and wildlife area and will offer activities such as hiking, biking, running, and horseback riding, through some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Midwest.

The trail will follow picturesque Camp Creek, and pass through wooded hills, wetlands and native tallgrass prairie blooming with wildflowers. When complete, the trail will be the only recreational trail in America to link the Oregon National Historic Trail with the Santa Fe National Historic Trail. The recently opened one-mile portion of the trail at Overbrook extends southeast from the trailhead, which is located at about 1st and Maple.
